The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) office in Bauchi State has announced a venue change for the upcoming 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course. The orientation will now be conducted at Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education in Kangere, replacing the usual Wailo NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, which is currently undergoing significant renovations.
Bauchi State NYSC Coordinator Rifkatu Yakubu communicated this change in a press statement released on Monday. She explained that the relocation is necessary to accommodate the complete renovation of the Wailo camp, which was recently inspected by Governor Sen. Bala Mohammed. Following his visit, the Governor directed the state Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Committee to oversee the comprehensive renovation and expansion of the camp facilities.
Yakubu’s statement detailed that the orientation exercise for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members will now take place at Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, located along Gombe Road in Bauchi Local Government Area. She assured that this temporary move to Kangere College would facilitate a smooth and successful orientation process.
The Coordinator also advised prospective corps members to avoid traveling at night, recommending that they break their journey and continue the next day to ensure their safety. Approximately 1,900 corps members are expected to participate in the orientation, which is scheduled from August 28 to September 17, 2024.
