Francisca Owumi, the first runner-up of the inaugural season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) in 2006, has tragically passed away. The news of her death was shared by her family on Instagram, with a heartfelt message reading, “A daughter and sister. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.” Owumi’s passing followed a brief illness.
Owumi gained fame for her dynamic presence and vibrant dance moves during her time on BBNaija, where she stood out among contestants like Katung Aduwak, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, and the late Joseph Ada. Following her time on the show, she ventured into music, releasing two singles, “Gbadun You” and “Diva,” in 2012 through her own record label, Cisca Entertainment. She also contributed as a writer for Revista, an international magazine based in Ghana.
In related BBNaija news, the Radicals, composed of Fairme David and Michkey, have been evicted from the ongoing Season 9 of the reality TV show. Their eviction, announced on Sunday, September 1st, brings the total number of pairs eliminated to six in the ‘No Loose Guard’ season. The Radicals were evicted after a tense nomination process, which saw four pairs—Wanni X Handi, DoubleKay, Radicals, and Aces—put up for possible elimination. With the Radicals’ departure, eight pairs remain in the house, each vying for the grand prize.
