Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, CSGGG on Wednesday, visited the First Lady of Nasarawa State Hajia Silifat Abdullahi Sule, at the State Government house to present her the prestigious 2019 Good Governance Award and the Icon of Hope Certificate.
The President of the group, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic during the presentation, appreciated the S.A on Media Musa Mohammad, for his coordination while stating that the award conferment on Hajia Silifat is in recognition of her stellar leadership qualities, outstanding performances, philanthropic and humanitarian activities especially in the area of the OVC’s which represents the Orphans, the Vulnerable and Children in the society.
Ogakwu said; “We didn’t come to the State House today, because you are the First Lady of Nasarawa State, but because of your antecedents, the records you have set and your love for the less privileged and vulnerable women and children in the society.
“Our mission here is to decorate you with this totem of honour for your good deeds, and to officially collaborate with you going forward in ensuring that the hopes of the OVC’s in the society are met. We will support you side by side with programmes/ activities that can assure a beautiful future for them.
“From our understudy, you are a woman with a heart of gold, and your position as the first lady of this state is divine and orchestrated by God to assist your husband His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State in achieving the lofty ambition of turning the fortunes of this state around for good both economically, leadership and otherwise.
“CSGGG, an assemblage of over 180 civil society groups will join hands with you in actualizing your good mission and vision for Nasarawa State, through actions, sensitization’s and awareness etc.” he added.
Also, Presenting the Icon of Hope certificate, Comrade Patrick Ogheneyero, the Executive Director of Centre for Peace, Transparency and Accountability CPTA, described Hajia Silifat as a golden fish, while stating that the certificate is also in recognition of her commitment to the welfare of the less privileged, orphans and expectant mothers.
Her Excellency, in appreciation thanked the group for finding her worthy of such notable mention, she officially inducted the group as an official ambassador to the Nasarawa State Government by presenting a plague with an inscription which reads; “Compliments of the Government and People of Nasarawa State…..Home of Solid Materials”
Although the media does no justice in bringing her good works in the state to limelight, CSGGG has promised to do so, as during its visit, it discovered that Hajia Silifat is a core humanitarian who has immense passion for goodwill, she currently runs a Non-Governmental Organisation named Silifat Abdullahi Hope Foundation which aims at providing hope and skills acquisition to a large number of women in the state.
Hajia has singlehandedly coached over 300 women in skills acquisition and has empowered them with good capital to startup their own businesses, she has also paid hospital bills for over 50 orphans and expectant mothers in the society and more.
