The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a call to Igbo investors, encouraging them to bring their businesses and investments back to Igboland, highlighting the region’s safety and economic potential. Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, addressed the concerns of Igbo entrepreneurs who have faced challenges in Lagos and other states due to unfavorable government policies and local community attitudes.
In a statement released on Tuesday, IPOB praised Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the founder of Zion Ministry, for relocating his ministry’s headquarters to Ngor Okpala in Imo State. This move was celebrated as a positive step towards regional development and a demonstration of Obi’s commitment to his homeland. IPOB urged other Igbo businesspeople to follow Obi’s example and invest in Alaigbo.
The statement acknowledged the support provided by various individuals and groups that facilitated the relocation of Zion Ministry. IPOB also expressed gratitude to the residents of Ngor Okpala, particularly those from Amala, Ntu, and Eziama, for offering land for the ministry’s new headquarters. This gesture is seen as a significant contribution to local development.
IPOB emphasized that Alaigbo, being a large and secure region, is well-suited to accommodate new investments. The group referenced an Igbo proverb, “aku ruo ulo, akota onye kpara ya,” which translates to “wealth reaches home, it rewards the owner,” to stress the importance of investing in the region.
The statement further recognized the contributions of existing businesses in the Southeast, such as Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, Ibeto Group, Masters Energy Ltd, Coscharis Farms, Geometric Power Plant, and Chikason Industry, for their role in providing jobs and boosting the local economy. IPOB also praised the efforts of traders and farmers in cities like Onitsha, Owerri, Enugu, Aba, Nnewi, Asaba, and others for their commitment to the region’s economic vitality.
IPOB called on the youth and leaders of Ngor Okpala to work towards creating a crime-free environment to attract more businesses and job opportunities. The organization reassured investors of the safety of their investments and reiterated its commitment to ensuring a secure and prosperous environment through the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
In conclusion, IPOB urged all Igbo people, both at home and abroad, to invest in Alaigbo, emphasizing the region’s readiness to support and safeguard their ventures for future generations.
