The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to fully automate its services to reduce physical contact with candidates. This initiative, led by JAMB’s registrar, Professor Ish-aq Oloyede, aims to address concerns about extortion and exploitation, particularly for underage candidates taking the UTME.
In a statement published on JAMB’s official website, Oloyede emphasized that the shift to digital interactions would help enhance service delivery and prevent unethical practices. The board plans to record all online interactions to ensure transparency and quality control.
Additionally, JAMB has launched investigations into reports of extortion and other malpractices at CBT centers and vowed to hold any staff involved accountable. Oloyede encouraged students to come forward with credible evidence to support these claims.
