A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State, led by Senator Yakubu Lado, has officially sworn in its newly elected leaders following the recent state congress. Alhaji Nura Amadi Kurfi was inaugurated as the state chairman at the event held at the PDP secretariat in Katsina.
In his address, Kurfi thanked the PDP national leadership and Senator Lado for their roles in securing the party’s victory in the 2023 general elections. He emphasized his commitment to fostering unity, promoting internal democracy, and ensuring fair conditions ahead of the 2027 elections.
The inauguration comes amid internal party disputes, with a rival faction led by Mustapha Inuwa pursuing legal action over alleged exclusion from the congresses. Despite this, Lado’s faction successfully conducted congresses at the ward and state levels.
