This initiative, announced by Mr. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser on Transportation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, aims to equip LASTMA personnel with the skills necessary to maintain high standards in traffic management.
Giwa highlighted that the training would cover several critical areas, including:

– **Stress Management and Wellness**: Techniques to preserve mental and physical well-being in high-pressure situations, led by stress management expert Akinyemi Samuel.
– **Integrity and Professionalism**: Upholding high standards of conduct in traffic operations.
– **Team Cohesion**: Building cohesive teams to boost productivity and improve service quality.
– **Effective Communication**: Enhancing communication skills for clarity and impact.
– **Emotional Intelligence**: Navigating conflicts and fostering constructive public engagement.
According to Giwa, over 3,000 LASTMA officers have undergone specialized training in traffic management this year. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to the professional development of its workforce, ensuring improved service delivery to motorists in Lagos.
“This training underscores LASTMA’s unwavering commitment to continuous capacity enhancement and operational excellence,” Giwa stated, highlighting the state government’s emphasis on ensuring that LASTMA officers are well-equipped to excel in their roles.
