Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced a relaxation of the 24-hour curfew previously enforced in the state capital. Effective Thursday, August 8, 2024, residents are now allowed to move freely from 12 noon to 6 pm daily, a measure aimed at improving daily life while maintaining security.
The decision, conveyed through a statement by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, follows an assessment of the improved security situation in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis. The governor, in consultation with security agencies, authorized this relaxation to facilitate lawful activities and ease daily inconveniences for residents.
The statement emphasized: “In light of the improved security situation, the Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew. Residents can now move freely between 12 noon and 6 pm daily until further notice.”
Governor Mutfwang commended the public for their cooperation during the curfew period and urged continued support for security efforts to ensure ongoing safety in the state.
