Music producer Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, has strongly defended Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, urging fans to stop comparing him with other artists. According to Samklef, Wizkid, the renowned “Essence” singer, stands head and shoulders above his peers, and the ongoing comparisons should cease.
Samklef criticized those who pit Wizkid against other musicians, asserting that the competition is over and should not continue. He even accused some artists of incentivizing fans to draw comparisons with Wizkid, reflecting a deeper issue within the Afrobeats industry.
“This is the time to clean up the industry,” Samklef stated. He dared anyone to challenge Wizkid’s supremacy, emphasizing that no artist comes close to Wizkid’s level. His comments reflect his long-standing collaboration with Wizkid and his belief in the singer’s exceptional status.
Reactions to Samklef’s statements have been mixed. Some fans supported his praise of Wizkid, while others criticized him for what they perceived as excessive bragging. Tweets ranged from supportive comments acknowledging Wizkid’s talent to harsh critiques questioning Samklef’s views.
Samklef had previously urged Wizkid to release his anticipated album, “Morayo,” naming it after his mother. He expressed confidence that the album would set new standards in the industry, reiterating his support for Wizkid’s artistic journey.
