Sonia, the ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has publicly called out her ex-husband’s family, urging them to provide details for the refund of the ₦24 bride price paid during their marriage. In a series of posts on Instagram, Sonia expressed frustration over the ongoing complications surrounding the refund.
She explained that returning the modest bride price has been made difficult due to demands that her father, who resides in America, should personally return the money. Sonia claimed that her father not only sponsored their wedding but also gave Jude half of the bride price to help care for her.
In her post, Sonia vented her frustrations, saying, “On top 24 naira wey you pay and my parents even give you half of the money make you use am take care of their ONLY daughter, na una want still de stress me put???”
She further prayed against the influence of what she described as “evil mothers-in-law,” suggesting there had been tension between her and her former mother-in-law. Sonia referenced Bible verses in her posts, citing *Esther 6:7* and *Romans 12:19*, calling on divine justice to address the situation.
Despite the dramatic nature of the ongoing feud, Sonia remains firm in her decision to end the marriage, asking for a peaceful resolution regarding the bride price.
