Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been named in the Serie A Team of the Week, following his standout performances for Atalanta. Lookman was instrumental in Atalanta’s recent victories, including a 3-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League, where he was awarded Man of the Match, and a 5-1 Serie A triumph against Genoa, where he provided a crucial assist.
This exceptional form earned Lookman a spot in *WhoScored’s* Serie A Team of the Week, joining other top-performing players. Among them is former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, who impressed with seven key saves in Fiorentina’s 2-1 win over AC Milan, and Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, who delivered an assist and completed 95% of his passes in their 3-2 win over Torino.
Also featured in the team is Christian Pulisic of AC Milan, who scored against Fiorentina, and Udinese’s Jordan Zemura, who netted a stunning free-kick in their match against Lecce. Lookman’s Atalanta teammate Ederson and Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, who scored a hat-trick, also made the list.
Lookman’s form comes at a crucial time, as he is expected to play a vital role for Nigeria during the upcoming international break, especially with the absence of star forward Victor Osimhen.
