The ward executives representing Ganduje in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, where Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was recently suspended, are poised to show their support with a solidarity visit.
Scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00 AM, the visit will take place at the party’s national secretariat.
This gesture follows a contentious suspension handed down to Ganduje by the ward’s legal adviser, Halliru Gwanzo.
Gwanzo cited ongoing bribery allegations against Ganduje as the basis for the suspension during a press briefing in Kano.
He pointed to formal bribery charges filed against the APC chairman by the Kano State government, highlighting Ganduje’s impending arraignment on Thursday.
However, the APC’s state leadership in Kano swiftly intervened, overturning Ganduje’s suspension.
In response, they imposed a six-month suspension on Gwanzo and other ward-level party leaders involved in the decision.
In a related development, Ganduje has asserted that his position as the APC National Chairman is secure.
He revealed having met with President Bola Tinubu, who assured him of the safety of his role as the APC National Chairman.
Ganduje also attributed the attempt to remove him from office to the Kano State government.
