Speaking at the LP presidential campaign in Makurdi, Benue State, yesterday, Obi said the Federal Government under his leadership support every state and also ensure that security apparatus is revamped to ensure that Nigerians are safe.
He said “If I become president, I will listen to Nigerians and start solving their problems. Nigerians should hold me responsible if I don’t turn around Nigeria.
“We will restructure the entire security in Nigeria and will secure the country. IDPs will go back to their villages and farmers will also return to their farms. I will support them to improve their farms.
“We will remove Nigeria from consumption to production. We will create wealth for the country and Nigerians and make our youths productive.”
Lorwase Hembe, Benue state governorship candidate of Labour Party, said if Peter Obi wins the 2023 presidential election, there would not be any killing in Benue state again.
“There is a law in Benue state which provide for restriction of livestock but unfortunately, it is our people that are put in cage instead of animals because of the activities of herdsmen.
“If you are president we want you to take our people back to their homes and farms.
“Right now in Benue, people come from villages to take food from towns instead of town people going to villages for food. This is not what should be,” he noted.
