In a ceremony, which was held at the state party secretariat, four lanes Uyo, where YPP executive members, party faithful and supporters were in attendance, the guber hopeful said the ticket would be complete with Amba as his running mate. He assured that his government would be loyal to everyone since it would be rooted in democracy.
Bassey Albert stressed that his government would be based on 3Rs; Recover, Reconcile and Reposition. He described Amba as a man who has serve his country, meritoriously, with incontrovertible curriculum vitae.
Amba who hails from urue offiong, uruko local government council of Akwa ibom state is a graduate of English from the university of lagos. He did his national service in 1985 and was retained as a lecturer at the university of Lagos before he was enlisted in the Nigerian police in 1986. He served as a commissioner of police in different states, including Bayelsa and Ekiti and in charge of counter-terrorism at the force headquarters before he was promoted to the rank of assistant inspector general.
In his acceptance speech. Amba, who described Albert as the legend of our time expressed appreciation to the senator and the entire party structure for having faith in him. He promised that as a deputy governorship candidate, his loyalty is already 100 percent to the incoming Governor, the party and the Akwa ibom people.
Speaking after joining the new party, Mr Albert, a former commissioner for finance in the state, said, 2023 is about good governance, capacity and competence, not by power or by might, but by the special grace of God. Mr Albert also told his supporters, God has handed over the destiny of Akwa ibom state to YPP. We are asking God for the grace to enable us to build this party and that, the party would form the next Government of Akwa ibom state.
