Al Ittihad, a prominent football club, has decided to terminate its contract with manager Nuno Santo following the team’s challenges in the Saudi Pro League. The decision came after a recent 2-0 defeat to Air Force Club of Iraq in the Asian Champions League. Nuno Santo, previously successful as the manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, had been leading Al Ittihad since July of the previous year. Despite securing the Saudi title last season, rumors circulated about a strained relationship between Nuno and striker Karim Benzema, a notable signing for the Pro League.

In an official statement on X (formerly Twitter), Al Ittihad announced the end of Nuno Santo’s contract, citing a comprehensive technical evaluation of his coaching tenure. Assistant coach Hassan Khalifa will assume temporary charge while the club searches for a suitable replacement for Nuno.”
