The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has instructed Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, to resign from the party and consider joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other opposition party. This directive was communicated in a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The APC has also removed Ndume from his position as Chief Whip of the 10th Senate, replacing him with Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno, representing Borno North.
The letter, signed by APC National Chairman Alhaji Umar Ganduje and National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Basiru, cited Ndume’s persistent complaints about President Bola Tinubu and his unfavorable remarks towards the Federal Government as the reasons for his removal.
Senate President Akpabio presented the request to the Senate, where it was affirmed by voice votes from all APC Senators.
