Aregbesola refutes apology report, stating that he bears no ill will
Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, the former governor of Osun State, clarified on Wednesday that he harbors no conflicts with anyone and is committed to collaborating with anyone to bring the progressives back into power in the state.
He refuted the reports circulating in certain media outlets claiming that he attributed his actions to the devil and was seeking forgiveness. He stated that these reports are false and deceptive.
As the recently retired Minister of Interior, Aregbesola emphasized the importance of healing and letting go of personal interests within the All Progressives Congress (APC). He believes that the party must prioritize revitalization, regardless of past events.During his homecoming reception at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, following his tenure in the federal cabinet, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola addressed the gathering. He called upon stakeholders, including true progressives, traditional leaders, and social institutions who share the party’s development agenda, to unite their efforts in preparation for upcoming elections.
Aregbesola emphasized his lack of animosity towards anyone in Osogbo or Osun. He expressed his readiness to collaborate and welcome anyone who wishes to work with him. While acknowledging that some individuals may have their reasons for holding grievances against him, he clarified that he personally holds no grudges against anyone.
“It was never my intention to part ways with any of them, but since they have chosen their own path, I humbly request you, our esteemed royal father, to intercede on our behalf. I will always hold them in good regard and remain open to collaborating with them.
“Wherever I find myself, please be assured that the interests of Osogbo and Osun are always a priority,” expressed the former governor.
