Mikel Arteta Arsenal manager, has identified Dominik Szoboszla as an alternative to Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
Arteta is still keen on Aouar, with a January bid believed to be in the works.
The Gunners tabled two offers for the France midfielder in the summer, the second of which was in the region of £35 million.
However, Lyon rejected both offers and the 22-year-old decided to remain with the Ligue 1 outfit.
According to Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are now weighing up the possibility of Szoboszla from RB Salzburg.
However, he North London club are said to be “following” the 20-year-old, who has scored 22 goals and provided 31 assists in 71 appearances for the Austrian champions.
Szoboszlai is said to be “in love with the Premier League”, an infatuation that could work in Arsenal’s favour should they try to sign him.
