The parents of Phyna, the 2022 BBNaija ‘Level Up’ edition winner, have raised concerns about their daughter’s absence and lack of communication since her victory, which came with a N100 million prize.
According to Phyna’s father, Felix Otabor, who spoke with Vanguard, he and his wife have not seen their daughter since the day she was announced as the BBNaija winner. Otabor, who works as a professional hearse driver, also mentioned that Phyna had asked him to sell his old cars when she won the reality show, promising to change their lives. However, he claims that she has not fulfilled this promise, leaving him without a car and struggling to make a living.
Otabor shared his struggles, stating, “I stopped doing my business because I had no car again. And my neighbors thought I was either stingy or pretending as if my daughter just won a N100 million grand prize. I am even looking for somebody who will give me a car on hire purchase. I need help; it has come to that point. I don’t want to die in silence.”
He added that he couldn’t explain why Phyna has been unresponsive and that he only sees her on Facebook or Instagram when she shares new photos. The situation highlights the complexities that can arise within families during times of sudden success or change.
This story sheds light on the challenges faced by Phyna’s family following her BBNaija win, sparking a conversation about the importance of maintaining family ties amidst newfound fame and fortune.
