Social media influencer Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, arrived at the National Assembly on Monday, accompanied by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju. They are part of a hearing before the House of Representatives Joint Committee, which is investigating serious allegations of corruption involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS).
Notably absent from the proceedings was Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. Although his lawyer, Averosoghene Omuvwie, was present, Bobrisky did not appear. When asked to comment, VeryDarkMan declined, stating, “Today, I will not say anything because an invitation was given out to me and Bobrisky. But he is not here. I don’t see why I will be here and he is not. So I won’t say anything, but my lawyer will.”
VeryDarkMan previously released an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed certain EFCC officials with N15 million to have a money laundering charge against her dropped. The audio also suggested that Bobrisky was not imprisoned but rather stayed in an apartment while supposedly serving a six-month jail term for Naira abuse.
The investigation continues as the committee seeks to uncover the truth behind these troubling allegations.
