After a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Nasir Isa Kwarra, the chairman of National Population Commission (NPC), at the state house, the president has approved that the 2023 Population and Housing Census, scheduled for 3 – 7 May, 2023 be postponed to a date that will be determined by the incoming administration.
During a meeting on Thursday with the Diplomatic corps at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, the chairman of the commission stated that the commission was yet to get all the devices needed to carry out the census, noting that some devices were yet to be procured.
“For the country, we need up to 800,000 PADs, so far, we have procured 500,000 and the remaining are coming in a few days”.
