The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially named Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania as the co-hosts for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The tournament will run from February 1 to February 28, 2025. CAF assures that all host stadiums and training venues will be ready and announced soon.
The qualifiers for the tournament will kick off with the first round on the weekend of October 25-27, 2024, and November 1-3, 2024. The second round of qualifiers is scheduled for December 20-22 and December 27-29, 2024.
As hosts, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will automatically qualify for the tournament, adding excitement to the upcoming championship. This tournament focuses on players who compete in their national league competitions.
Since the inception of CHAN in 2009, Nigeria’s CHAN Eagles have yet to secure a victory. The most successful teams are DR Congo and Morocco, each having won the tournament twice. Other past winners include Tunisia, Libya, and the reigning champions, Senegal.
