The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced a new chairman and board of directors for Keystone Bank, aiming to bolster the bank’s growth and compliance.
Lady Ada Chukwudozie has been appointed as the new board chairman. The board also includes five non-executive directors: Abdul-Rahman Esene, Mrs. Fola Akande, Akintola Ayodeji Olusoji, Obijiaku Samuel, and Senator Farouk Bello. Additionally, two new executive directors have been named: Ladi Oluwole and Abubakar Usman Bello.
This restructuring follows the CBN’s decision in January to dissolve the boards and management of several banks, including Keystone Bank, due to non-compliance with the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act, 2020.
**New Board Members:**
– **Lady Ada Chukwudozie:** With nearly 30 years in business strategy and management, she has experience with De-Endy Industrial Company Limited, Dozzy Group, and Vogue Afrique Magazine.
– **Abdul-Rahman Esene:** Brings over 43 years in banking and investment management, with previous roles at Fidelity Bank and Afrinvest.
– **Mrs. Fola Akande:** Has over 25 years in legal and compliance roles with Cadbury, Stanbic Chartered Bank, and Shell.
– **Akintola Ayodeji Olusoji:** A 30-year veteran in finance and accounting, previously with Sterling Bank and Access Bank.
– **Obijiaku Samuel:** With more than 35 years in banking, has worked with Zenith Bank and Fidelity Bank.
– **Senator Farouk Bello:** A seasoned banker with over 20 years of experience, including roles in the National Assembly and Guaranty Trust Bank.
**Executive Directors:**
– **Ladi Oluwole:** New Executive Director of Risk Management, with over 20 years in risk management, including at Bank of America.
– **Abubakar Usman Bello:** Executive Director for the Northern Directorate, experienced in managing corporate, retail, and public sector clients.
Keystone Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Hassan Imam, welcomed the new appointments, expressing confidence that their extensive experience will support the bank’s strategic growth and governance.
