Chelsea is set to miss out on signing Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who is on the verge of completing a €80 million (£67.3 million) move from Napoli to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli.
According to Sky Sports, Al Ahli, long-time admirers of Osimhen, have outpaced Chelsea by offering the forward a lucrative four-year contract. The deal is reportedly worth €40 million (£33.6 million) per season, which amounts to around £646,154 per week, all tax-free. Additionally, the contract includes a release clause.
Osimhen, who previously played for Lille and Wolfsburg, is expected to undergo a medical with Al Ahli on Friday before finalizing the move. Napoli, who preferred the Saudi club as Osimhen’s destination, has already signed his replacement—Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku—who joined the Italian side in a €30 million deal on Thursday.
