**SOKOTO** – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has committed to providing ongoing support and improved logistics for the success of Operation Hadarin Daji troops. He made this promise during a one-day seminar on warrior ethos, organized by the Department of Army Transformation and Innovation, in Sokoto on Tuesday.
Represented by Brigadier General Ibikunle Ajose, Acting GOC of the 8 Division, Lagbaja emphasized that the seminar aims to address the challenges troops face in a volatile security environment. He stated, “I can assure you of my continuous support to provide the much-needed logistics and guidance required for the execution of your tasks.”
The COAS highlighted the Nigerian Army’s ongoing efforts to review tactics and strategies, combining both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to effectively combat security challenges. He noted that the seminar would enhance the capacity of personnel, focusing on developing a warrior ethos and a battle-winning mentality.
Lagbaja also addressed critical issues, such as the threats posed by chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear terrorism in Nigeria, along with the alarming rise in drug and substance abuse among deployed troops. He urged commanders at all levels to innovate and improve personnel management and battle readiness, aligning with his Command Philosophy for the Nigerian Army.
He praised the Department of Army Innovation and Transformation for organizing the seminar, stating it would enhance the operational and situational awareness of the troops. Additionally, Lagbaja commended President Bola Tinubu for his strategic guidance and unwavering support to the Nigerian Army.
