Stakeholders and elders in Agbor, Delta State, have voiced apprehension regarding the safety of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Allegations suggest that Emefiele is being held in a manner akin to a common criminal, raising fears for his overall well-being. Emefiele was suspended from his CBN governor position in May and subsequently removed, leading to growing concerns from stakeholders who are calling for his release. The stakeholders are troubled by the reported disregard for court orders in Emefiele’s case and connect his detention to President Buhari’s naira redesign policy, hinting at dissatisfaction among certain politicians.
