An emotional incident unfolded at a local market in Abuja as an agitated housewife broke into tears after her purchased food items were absconded with by a barrow pusher. Our reporter on the scene witnessed the gathering of concerned customers and traders who rallied around to offer their sympathy and support to the distressed woman. Some sympathizers even took it upon themselves to search the market for any sign of the barrow pusher.
With tears streaming down her face, the woman recounted the unfortunate turn of events to those who had gathered to console her. She shared that she had bought a variety of food items, including bags of rice, beans, maize, and other essential ingredients. Seeking assistance, she had engaged a barrow pusher to help transport the goods to the roadside.
She narrated that as the barrow pusher began moving towards the road with her belongings, she made a brief stop to purchase fish, instructing him to wait for her return. However, upon returning from her fish purchase, she was shocked to find that the barrow pusher had vanished along with her food items.
The woman identified as Gbaje disclosed that she had journeyed from Fogbe village to Kwaita market with the intention of purchasing the food supplies, amounting to a total of N23,300.
In an inspiring show of solidarity, other traders in the market contributed money to support the woman, who was still overcome with grief. Their gesture aimed to assist her in procuring replacement food items, in an attempt to alleviate her distress.
The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by individuals in their daily lives and underscores the need for compassion and communal support during times of adversity.
