Alhaji Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, has announced that the Federal Government will conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged payment of funds into a private account involving Dr. Beta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Minister Idris acknowledged the concerns raised by the public regarding the alleged payment of N585 million into a private account as directed by Dr. Beta Edu. The minister assured Nigerians that the government takes these issues seriously and is committed to transparency and accountability.
The statement reads, “The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is transparent and accountable to the people, and committed to ensuring that public funds are allocated and utilized effectively and efficiently to address the needs of Nigerians.”
In response to the recent events, President Tinubu has directed a thorough and comprehensive investigation to verify the accuracy and validity of the reported details. The government aims to unravel the truth and take appropriate action to address any breaches and infractions, in line with its commitment to public accountability and due process.
Minister Idris emphasized that the Ministry of Information and National Orientation is the primary source for verified information about events and actions of the Federal Government.
