Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) on Tuesday, conferred the Icon of Excellent Leadership and Good Governance Award on Aviation Freak, Chief Goddy Nnabuenyi Ike at the Independent television.
Goddy Ike is the Principal Partner of Goddy Ike & Partners, a licensed Estate Surveyors and Valuers and also a Private Aviation Researcher.
The President of the group, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic durimg the presentation, said the award conferred on Chief Goddy, is for his stellar leadership qualities, outstanding performance in the Aviation sector, development of top notch initiatives in boosting foreign development in Africa and priceless humanitarian services to mankind.
In a statement made available to our correspondent, the group which is a registered coalition of over one Hundred and Eighty civil society organizations in Nigeria, stated that the award centred on the intelligence and prowess Chief Goddy has used in carrying through his duties, while it pledged to continue to promote excellence and merit to enhance rapid development and national unity.
“The Award entails a well designed plague, for his contribution during the “2002 11th African Aviation Conference” on the grounding of all Russian-Made BAC 1-11 Aircrafts in Nigeria during Hon. Minister Kema Chikwe regime and also for averting a Dana Airplane crash 2012, after noticing that the airplane was not air-worthy as its jet engines could not be started from the cockpit, although his good deeds were not commended but rather ignored.” the statement added.
In his appreciation speech, the Aviation freak expressed great excitement, while stating that he never knew his actions were obvious to have singled him out for an award, he however promised to put more efforts to make the Nigerian Aviation Sector grow more and also stretch out his humanitarian services to country at large.
