Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed profound sadness over the death of Oba Gabriel Aromolaran, the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland.
In a heartfelt statement, Atiku described the late monarch as a beacon of courage and discipline, embodying the virtues of the Ijesha people. He praised Oba Aromolaran’s fatherly warmth, noting that the monarch was more than just a father-in-law to him.
Atiku, whose wife, Titi, hails from Ilesa in Osun State, shared his condolences on X alongside a photograph of himself with Oba Aromolaran and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Atiku wrote, “With a heavy heart, I received the news of the passing of Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran. He was not only a father-in-law but a cherished father figure who welcomed me as a son. His legacy of boldness and discipline will be deeply missed.”
