The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has officially distanced itself from Simon Ekpa, asserting that he is not a member of the group. IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, made this clarification in a recent statement, countering allegations linking Ekpa to the organization.
Powerful emphasized that IPOB remains focused on its nonviolent campaign for self-determination and urged the public to disregard any actions or comments by Ekpa, who, according to them, does not represent their values or objectives.
This statement follows growing controversies surrounding Ekpa’s activities, which IPOB claims are unrelated to their cause. They reiterated their commitment to peaceful advocacy and called for unity among their supporters.
The group urged the public to verify information before associating it with IPOB, warning against misinformation aimed at discrediting their movement.
