Kano State Assembly Passes Bill to Establish Second Class Emirates

The Kano State House of Assembly has approved a bill to create second class Emirates within the state. The bill, which had its first reading before a recess and resumed discussions recently, underwent second and third readings before being adopted and passed during a plenary session chaired by Speaker Jibril Falgore. This legislative move comes amid a prolonged Emirship dispute involving Emir Muhammad Sanusi II and Aminu Ado Bayero vying for the position over the past two years.
