The Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Northwest region have expressed their firm support for the former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, to assume the role of National Chairman of the party. The party Chairmen convened in Kaduna and issued a communique to the media on Wednesday, formally endorsing Ganduje’s ambition.
According to the communique, the decision to back Ganduje stems from his significant contributions to the success and progress of the APC. During the 2023 general elections, Ganduje played a pivotal role in campaigning throughout the country, which ultimately led to the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria.
The endorsement was jointly signed by all seven Northwest States Chairmen, namely; Hon. Isa Sadiq Acida from Sokoto State, Air Cdre. Emmanuel K Jekada (rtd) from Kaduna State, Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Kana from Kebbi State, Prince Abdullahi Abbas from Kano State, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel from Jigawa State, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani from Zamfara State, and Hon. Muhammad Sani Ali from Katsina State.
The communique states, “We, the State Chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the seven States comprising Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Jigawa, which make up the Northwest Geopolitical Zone of the country, unanimously endorse Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the National Chairman of the party.”
The Chairmen acknowledged Ganduje’s exceptional contributions to the party, particularly during the 2023 general elections, where his efforts were instrumental in securing the victory of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
They further praised Ganduje’s dedication, experience, maturity, steadfastness, commitment, and resilience, deeming him the most suitable candidate not only from the Northwest zone but for the entire country, to hold the esteemed position of Chairman of the party.
The communique also expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the special recognition he consistently extends to the Northwest zone, its people, and the APC as a whole. The Chairmen pledged their unwavering support to the President in his efforts to elevate Nigeria to greater heights.
