Governor Alex Otti establishes judicial panel to recover alleged looted government properties and funds in Abia State
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has taken steps to recover government properties and funds that were allegedly looted during previous administrations in the state. A week after his inauguration, Otti called on those in possession of government properties to return them.
In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the setting up of a judicial panel of inquiry was announced. The panel will be chaired by Justice Florence Ikwuoma Duruoha-Igwe, and its members include Prof. Ogwo Ekeoma Ogwo, Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor, Rev. Fr. Alex Okonkwo, and Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa.
The specific terms of reference for the panel and the date of inauguration will be communicated to the chairman. The panel is expected to investigate and facilitate the recovery of government properties and funds belonging to Abia State.
Governor Otti’s administration aims to ensure transparency and accountability in governance by recovering assets and funds that rightfully belong to the state.
