Renowned reggae and dancehall artist, Patoranking, has expressed that the untimely demise of the young musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, could have been averted. Mohbad’s passing stirred widespread controversies and protests across the nation, with youths demanding justice for the singer, believing his death was orchestrated.
In a discussion on the Afrobeats Podcast, Patoranking shared his thoughts on Mohbad’s tragic fate. He emphasized that paying attention to Mohbad’s lyrics could have been crucial in preventing the unfortunate incident. Patoranking lamented the loss, saying, “It’s so sad when you open your phone and you see Mohbad’s pictures and you come to the realization that he is not coming back again. It’s still hard to believe that he is gone.”
Patoranking disclosed that he had reached out to Mohbad in April, commending his work, and received a reply from the late musician. Expressing his sorrow, Patoranking stated that Mohbad did not deserve what happened to him and stressed the importance of seeking justice for the young artist. He further highlighted the significance of paying attention to lyrics, suggesting that signs might have been evident if closer attention had been given to Mohbad’s words.
