In an exclusive report, Allnigeriasoccer.com reveals that Qatari Stars League club Umm Salal SC has expressed interest in signing Tim Akinola, a former Arsenal youth player. Akinola, who received an invitation to the 2022 Nigeria’s Olympic National Team, chose to end his association with Arsenal last summer, one year before his contract’s expiration.
Since joining Al Bidda SC, Akinola has showcased impressive performances, featuring in all ten games played by the club. The midfielder has been linked with a potential transfer to a Saudi Arabian club, with talks underway between Saudi and Qatari counterparts. Despite the concrete interest from Saudi Arabia, Akinola reportedly prefers a move to Umm Salal SC in the January transfer window and wishes to continue playing in Qatar.
Akinola made a significant impact on his competitive debut for Al Bidda SC, delivering a man-of-the-match performance and scoring two goals to secure a comprehensive victory over Al Ahli SC in the QFA Cup. He is currently under contract with Al Bidda SC until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
