….. Vows to Rebut Misleading Claims
The Niger Delta Youths for Positive Change (NDYPC) has cautioned the Project Niger Delta (PND) to desist from emotionally blackmailing responsible sons of the Ijaw Nation currently holding public offices. The group made this known in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Elliot Yibakeni Yibalua, on Sunday.
The group described PND’s actions as distracting and misleading and vowed to continue rebutting their claims.
NDYPC specifically addressed three issues: the endorsement of Dr. Otuaro, allegations of nepotism and betrayal of public trust, and the demand to ignore the endorsement.
The group stated that Professor Okaba acted within his constitutional powers in endorsing Dr. Otuaro, and that the allegations of nepotism and betrayal of public trust are unfounded and malicious.
NDYPC also described PND’s demand that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should ignore Professor Okaba’s endorsement as misplaced and disrespectful.
The group urged PND to retract their statement and apologize for the harm caused to Professor Okaba and Dr. Otuaro’s reputation and refrain from further meddling in stakeholders’ engagement and efforts. It reiterated that it remains committed to promoting truth, fairness, and collaboration in the Niger Delta region.
