Following allegations making waves on the internet against the Executive Chairman, Takum Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Shiban Tikari, the special aide to the chairman on media, Comrade Jonathan Isaac, has released a statement debunking the reports.
The statement released to newsmen on Tuesday, described the report which was published by the NigerianTribune Friday 27th February online publication supposedly emanated from an interview granted by Chief Zaki Thomas Yamsa District Head of Mbadugh/Mbayongu and Mr. Auva Asema on Friday 26th of February, 2021.
It reads: “It is with due diligence and sound mind that we condemn in all entireties these publications which have since gone viral on other online platform after publication by Nigeria Tribune. This above publication is nothing but gimmicks from unscrupulous elements whose sole aim to bring disrepute to the good name and office of Hon. Prince Shiban Tikari. The action of the duo alleging that, the Chief Security Officer of Takum local government was seen alongside the military personnel among attackers who attacked and razed down Tyolaha, Tse Ikyo and Campo-gbenger villages in Takum respectively requires immediate sanction and probe to ascertain the area and intent for which the unsubstantiated claim is emanating from.
“The report which is obviously a malicious reportage, lacks basic facts and even cannot hold ground, It is not in our habit to respond to baseless allegations emanating from the tent of unscrupulous opposition and people who have constantly proven themselves as enemies of peace and tranquility; however it is imperative to address the issues for the sake of the public perception of its government steward.
The SA who tagged the report a pure campaign of calumny, also reiterated that for the sake of clearness, that no report of attack was reported to any of the security agencies in Takum Local Government Area. he maintained that since Chief Yamusa failed to give a concrete date with fact of which such attack was carried and to back up the basis for their malicious claim, that one can see his desperation to tarnish the image of the Chairman and the Army in Takum.
Comrade Jonathan who condemned the NigerianTribune for publicizing mere speculation without actual fight finding which is against the ethics of journalism, however called on the general public to note that the executive chairman’s duty is to protect the lives and properties of citizens of Takum local government as directed by law and not to destroy and end the existence of same and the by no chance was he (Hon. Shiban) ever involved in any attack on the areas mentioned by Chief Yamsa, and Mr. Auva Asema respectively.
