Tension ensued in Abuja Municipal as members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, also known as Shi’ites, trooped out in their hundreds to call for the immediate release of their leader, Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
The angry members protested Abuja municipal area, over the continued detention of their leader, who has been in detention since December 2015.
The protesters, who formed a circle at the roundabout, were chanting, “Free El-Zakzaky.”
Stern looking police officers also monitored proceedings to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
