Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, the South-South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians, especially those in the Niger Delta region, to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
Agbomhere’s call comes in response to the re-appointment of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Abuja on Thursday. President Tinubu recently approved Ogbuku’s appointment, along with that of Mr. Chiedu Ebie from Delta State as Chairman of the Commission’s Board.
The APC chieftain called on leaders, ministers, and stakeholders from the South-South region to support Tinubu’s vision for the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole. He stated, “I encourage them, Niger-Delta indigenes, to implement the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration by working diligently to ensure stability and development in the Niger Delta region, which will, in turn, benefit Nigeria as a whole by safeguarding the nation’s oil resources.”
Agbomhere praised Dr. Ogbuku’s re-appointment as a recognition of his vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to transforming the Niger Delta region. He highlighted Ogbuku’s leadership qualities, emphasizing his dedication to transparency, accountability, and a zero-tolerance policy for corruption. These attributes, according to Agbomhere, are crucial for revitalizing the NDDC and rebuilding the trust of Nigerians in the Commission’s ability to fulfill its core mandate.
