**Federal Government Trains MDAs on 2024 Budget Preparation**
In preparation for the 2024 budget, the Budget Office of the Federation has initiated training sessions for personnel in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The training focuses on familiarizing them with the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System Budget Preparation Sub-System (GIFMIS/BPS).
This training is expected to promote fiscal discipline and accountability in the management of public funds. It will also facilitate the swift preparation and submission of the 2024 budget to the National Assembly by October 2023.
The announcement was made on Monday during a two-day training session for the South-West region in Lagos by the Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Ben Akabueze. Akabueze was represented by Hajiya Hapsatu Momoh, the Director of Revenue and Fiscal Policies at the Budget Office of the Federation, which is now part of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
This training underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing fiscal discipline and accountability in the management of public funds.
