The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended two individuals accused of aiding banditry in the Jibia Local Government Area. The suspects, detained on July 25, 2024, were found with rustled animals including two rams, one sheep, and a goat, which they were allegedly attempting to sell at the Magama market.
According to ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the arrests were made with the assistance of the State’s Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) and local hunters. The suspects confessed to receiving the stolen animals from a bandits’ leader known as Nura of Mazanya village, who is currently at large.
The police are continuing their investigation and pursuing the arrest of the fugitive bandit leader. The success of the operation is attributed to the ongoing efforts of the Katsina State Police Command under Commissioner Aliyu Abubakar-Musa’s leadership.
