Coalition set to honour Hon. Edet for outstanding, unparalleled performance

• Applauds the Comm.s’ consistent fight against women and children rights abuse

A coalition of over 180 society, Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, CSGGG, on Wednesday, disclosed plans to confer it’s distinguished certificate of outstanding performance/ recommendation on Dr. Glory Edet, the honorable commissioner of Agriculture in Akwa-Ibom State.

According to report, the certificate of performance will be conferred on the amiable honourable on Thursday, 3rd December, 2020 at the conference room of the Ministry.

The President and Convener of the organization, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic in a statement made duly signed and made available to newsmen, said that the feat performed by the honourable had no doubt, distinguished her as a true and highly committed representative to her people. He noted that the nomination is hinged on her notable performance during the tour of duty as the Hon. Commissioner for Women affairs in the State.

He said that the organization found Dr. Edet outstanding for being able to achieve excellence in the effective implementation of the Akwa Ibom State Child Abuse law, better coordination of stakeholders and role players on the area of women, children and the vulnerable, setting up a functional state orphans and vulnerable persons and state gender coordinating technical communities to address challenges in areas of importance, passage and signing into law the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act( VAPP) and finally setting up Assault referall centers in the senatorial district of the state to battle the ugly menace of child defilement and other gend based violence in the society.

The President, affirmed that the above highlighted achievements are worthy of commendations as they are notable landmarks; he further reiterated that the good deeds of a public steward, should be duly announced and due honourable given to encourage him or her to do more.

” The organization is proud of your activities and achievements in office, and to identify with excellence is our top priority; hence the special certificate of performance/recommendation. This is to officially induct you as the CSO Icon of the Year,and also propose and recommend you for appointment into a higher office in Nigeria.” He added.
