Mr Effiong was seen walking out of prison to the waiting hands of friends and colleagues who had gathered around Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, as early as 8:00 a.m.

Recall that the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Ekaette Obot, had on 27 July,  sentenced Mr Effiong to prison after the lawyer objected to the presence of two armed police operatives in the courtroom.

Mr Effiong , after been released from prison said “I consider it an honour for me to be incarcerated for the truth my incarceration has strengthened my resolve to fight for truth and justice in Nigeria, this voice, till no end, is now louder,”
