The Ogun State Government says it will not undermine the provision of affordable and qualitative education to its citizenry, as it is a powerful weapon to the development of any nation.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa made this known while receiving a Document requesting for the conversion of the Methodist Teachers’ Training College, Sagamu to a Vocational College by the President of the Association in Abeokuta.
Odemuyiwa stated that the request of the association was in tandem with the vision of the State Government in provision of qualitative education for its citizenry, saying that it remained committed to quality education for its citizenry.
He noted that Technology has popped up with the speed of light, adding that any society ignorant of it would not have a place in the emerging economy of the international market.
Odemuyiwa stated further that the State government would continue to dominate the the national output in the Education sector, saying that no State’s graduates would lose their place in today’s world of economy.
While presenting the Document, the President of the Association, Pastor Adeleke Odunaya said that Education had important roles to play in human endeavors, noting that no government would sit on the fence while considering the education of its citizenry.
“It is very imperative to educate the entire nation, as it is more of ingredient to a happy, successful and constructive life”, Odunaya said
He appealed to the present administration-led by Dapo Abiodun to come to their aid in converting the facility of the defunct college lying fallow to a Vocational College, saying that it would help in keeping the youths off the street.
