Speaking with our correspondent in a telephone interview, His Royal Highness Kwe Godson Danlami Wasa of Jenuwa Gida Nyifiye Confirmed that the marauding bandits, which were well armed and in their numbers, attacked the villages at noon, a time most villagers were closing from church. As men and women scamper for survival, children were left behind to their fates.
“It was a gruesome and pathetic sight as about 8 people couldn’t escape the rain of bullets from the bandits while several others sustained injuries”.

It was was also gathered that the local vigilance group in the community attempted to engage the invaders but were overwhelmed by the superior firepower of the bandits.

Several attempt to reach the Taraba State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) proves abortive as of the time of filling this report.

In another development there was similar attack at the outskirt of Takum between Mbiya, Tamiya and Faenta a day before now. In both attacks, the bandits were in great number estimated above 300 by fleeing eye witness. The bandits have various camps within and around Takum town and operate freely without Confrontations.

The communities that are attacked belong to Kuteb ethnic group of Southern Taraba, the second largest ethnic group in Taraba and known for peace, hardwork and nation- building.

Why the selective attacks is still mystery.

When interviewed one of the villagers who pleaded anonymity called on NSA security chiefs and the vibrant State Governor to deploy combined team of military to Takum Local Government Area, Ussa Local Government Area and Yangtu Special Development Area as over 80 Kuteb villages have been destroyed and over 200 kuteb people killed in last 1 year of insurgency in those areas.
