Nigerian skit maker Denilson Igwe has accused his former partner, Mark Angel, of dishonesty regarding the claim that Emmanuella, a young protégé of Angel’s, purchased a house for her parents. This accusation challenges a widely circulated narrative from 2020, where a video depicted Emmanuella presenting a house to her family.
In a recent video released by the Honest Bunch podcast, Denilson claimed that the story about Emmanuella buying a house was fabricated by Mark Angel. He argued that Emmanuella, being a teenager at the time, lacked the knowledge and financial capacity to handle such a transaction. Denilson further alleged that Emmanuella did not manage her own social media accounts and was under Mark Angel’s control.
Denilson also made additional claims about the living situation at Mark Angel’s residence, noting that there are several males living in the household with Emmanuella and Success, who are both young females.
In addition to the accusations about Emmanuella, Denilson revealed details about his financial disagreements with Mark Angel. According to Denilson, he and other crew members parted ways with Mark after discovering that he was exploiting them financially. Denilson claimed that Mark Angel had previously worked as a security guard at Kilimanjaro in GRA, Port Harcourt, before gaining prominence with their skits.
Denilson alleged that he was responsible for the videography of Mark Angel’s Comedy content, which was posted on Facebook. However, he was not informed when their social media page was monetized. He claimed that Mark Angel did not provide him with any share of the monetization revenue until 2016, when he received ₦50,000 after Mark bought a car for himself.
Denilson also criticized Mark Angel’s financial treatment of Emmanuella, stating that despite generating $160,000 monthly from Facebook revenue, Emmanuella was only paid ₦20,000 per month.
Denilson’s revelations have cast a spotlight on financial and ethical concerns within the popular comedy network, adding to the ongoing debate about the treatment of young talents and financial transparency in the entertainment industry.
