Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has delivered a message urging individuals who frequently ruminate over thoughts concerning him to shift their focus. In a statement shared through his Twitter account, he encouraged them to embrace a specific lyrical passage from a favored song as a source of inspiration.
This pronouncement follows the backdrop of El-Rufai’s nomination for a ministerial role, which faced resistance from the Senate. Citing security checks as a reason for the delay in confirmation, it was reported that El-Rufai conveyed to President Bola Tinubu his decision to withdraw from the ministerial pursuit. He expressed a commitment to contribute to Nigeria’s progress as a private citizen rather than pursuing a governmental role.
Reports further indicated that during discussions with President Tinubu, El-Rufai suggested an alternative ministerial nominee for Kaduna State—Jafaru Ibrahim Sani. He asserted that Sani’s competence and resourcefulness would be valuable assets to the President’s administration.
However, amidst these developments, El-Rufai recently posted a tweet with an underlying message, accompanied by a musical suggestion. The tweet read, “WEDNESDAY WISDOM: ‘You Make Your Own Heaven and Hell Right Here on Earth’ by The Undisputed Truth is one of my all-time favorites from our Barewa College days. Enjoy the music and reflect on the lyrics on this beautiful Wednesday morning.”
Elaborating on his statement, El-Rufai appeared to address individuals who persistently keep him in their thoughts. He invited them to disconnect from this fixation and instead immerse themselves in the music he recommended. His message seems to indicate a desire to move past the current discussions surrounding his role and aspirations.
Despite these public declarations, it’s noteworthy that El-Rufai’s influence and engagement within Nigerian politics remain subjects of ongoing interest and conversation.
