The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially confirmed that Sen. Samuel Anyanwu will continue to hold the position of the party’s National Secretary. This clarification comes in response to a misleading statement by a group that falsely claimed the NWC had removed Anyanwu from his elected role.
According to Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, the NWC has never considered or implemented Anyanwu’s removal as National Secretary. The party strongly condemns the actions of this group, which appears to be aimed at causing division and disaffection within the PDP, distracting the party, Sen. Anyanwu, and the people of Imo State as they seek to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Governorship election on November 11.
Ologunagba emphasizes that spreading fabrications and lies and claiming non-existent decisions by the NWC is unacceptable. The PDP calls on its members, supporters, and Nigerians, especially in Imo, to disregard these false claims. Sen. Samuel Anyanwu remains the PDP National Secretary and the party’s candidate in the upcoming election.
The NWC further urges the PDP in Imo to stand united, stay focused, and resist attempts by divisive forces trying to disrupt the party’s path to victory on November 11.
