Tiwa Savage Makes Waves with ‘Water & Garri’ Soundtrack Album Debut

In a significant move marking a new chapter in her artistic journey, Tiwa Savage has released the soundtrack album for her debut feature film, ‘Water & Garri’. Leading up to the album’s launch, she unveiled the single ‘Lost Time’, produced by Khari ‘Needlz’ Cain and co-produced by Poo Bear, renowned for their work with industry heavyweights like Bruno Mars, Drake, and Cardi B.

Curated by Tiwa Savage herself, the immersive soundtrack album comprises 10 original tracks featuring a stellar lineup of guest artists from the realms of Afropop, R&B, and Hip Hop. Notable collaborators include Grammy-nominated stars Olamide and Ayra Starr, Nigerian icon ASA, Cameroonian multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona, and gospel sensation Zacardi.

Rounding out the guest list are Cortez, Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif, Nigerian hitmakers Reekado Banks & Young Jonn, versatile singer-producer Mystro Sugar, and Neo-Highlife ensemble The Cavemen.

The release of ‘Water & Garri’ album soundtrack signifies a significant milestone for Tiwa Savage, who not only assumes her first lead role in a feature film but also serves as its Executive Producer. The film follows her character Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her native home ‘Eastside’ after a decade abroad, confronting a transformed landscape marked by violence and unrest.

As Aisha navigates her way through family dynamics and rekindles old flames, she grapples with past traumas and the weight of guilt. The soundtrack album, intricately woven with themes from the film, captures the emotional depth and cultural richness of the narrative.
